แสงอินฟาเรด ของแกแลคซี่แอนโดรมิด้า (Andromeda Galaxy (M31))
ภาพแสดงฝุ่นร้อนๆ สีเหลืองและแดง กำลังก่อตัวเป็นดาวใหม่เป็นเงาเบลอๆ
แกแลคซี่ที่เห็นนี้ใหญ่กว่าแกแลคซี่ทางช้างเผือกของเราประมาณสองเท่า
ยังมีกาแลคซี่บริวารอีกสองอันคือ M110 ด้านบน และ M32 ด้านล่าง
กล้องที่ถ่ายคือ WISE หรือ ดาวเทียม Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer
ส่งขึ้นไปโคจรเมื่อธันวาคมปีที่แล้ว (2009) และจะทำหน้าที่สำรวจคลื่นอินฟาเรดประมาณหกเดือน
และนาซ่าคาดว่า กล้องตัวนี้จะตรวจพบ ดาวเคราะห์น้อยใกล้โลกไปในตัวด้วย
